Every person booked into the Boulder County Jail must complete the booking process before bail can be posted. The jail accepts cash bonds, surety bonds, and personal recognizance (PR) bonds depending on the judge’s order. A $10 bond fee and $30 booking fee are typically assessed on each bond.
You can find an inmate’s current bond amount, booking status and other case information at the Boulder County Sheriff's Office's Daily Booking & Listing Reports page.
Bonds can be posted remotely through AllPaid or TouchPay. Both secure online platforms accept all major debit and credit cards.
Bond can also be posted in person at the Boulder County Jail lobby during regular business hours.
The release process begins once the bond is posted. Depending on jail operations and security levels, most releases occur within 2-6 hours after bond approval.
Boulder County uses a video visitation system that offers both on-site and remote options for families and friends. All in-person visitation at the Boulder County Jail has been suspended until further notice, meaning all visits must be conducted remotely for now. Video visitation can be scheduled through Combined Public Communications by calling 1-877-998-5678, and customer service for friends and family is available at 1-866-340-7879. During this temporary suspension, video visits cost just $0.05 per minute, but rates will return to $0.20 per minute once on-site visitation resumes.
Visitors must pre-register online and follow the scheduling instruction guide – selecting “Boulder County Jail, CO” and choosing either remote or on-site video options. Professional legal visits with attorneys are still permitted at this time.
Remote Visitation allows you to visit your loved one from the comfort of your own home. If you have a computer with a functional webcam and high-speed internet you have the opportunity to visit them as much as you want as long as you schedule your visit a head of time and within the appropriate hours.
For this option you will be charged a fee for each visit and you must first be approved in order to schedule your visit.
Funds can be added to an inmate’s commissary account through several methods. You’ll need the inmate’s full name and date of birth or booking number when making a deposit.
Deposit fees vary depending on the payment method, and same-day posting is available for most electronic payments. Cash payments made in the lobby kiosk do not include additional service fees.
